Ashland Greenwood Public School Foundation

Ashland Greenwood Public Schools

AGA-C4K also works in partnership with Ashland-Greenwood Public Schools (AGPS).  AGPS provides pre-k services now and these are likely to be expanded with the new Pre-K to 2nd Grade Elementary building.  Provision of early childhood services is essential to attract teachers to reside in the community and for parents with younger children. Before and after school care and coordination with area providers are essential for optimal service to the community.

AGA-C4K has its fiscal home at the AGPS Foundation.  Every C4K organization in the state requires a fiscal home within its own community.

Economic Development

Ashland-Greenwood Communities for Kids (AG-C4K), with its purposes of enhancing early childhood services and those who provide them, is endorsed by the Ashland Area Economic Development Corporation (AAEDC), working in tandem with Cass County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) as it pertains to the Greenwood area.  Sufficient high- quality childcare is seen as a core need by AAEDC and was emphasized in designation of Ashland as a Leadership Certified Community.   Early childhood services are prioritized by Leadership Certified Communities to attract and retain businesses and residents.

This group is the greatest thing since sliced bread!

City Councilman, City of Ashland

It has been a privelege to work a team so dedicated to closing one of the biggest gaps in the Ashland Community. On top of growth in the housing sector and business retention, it is important to have quality childcare for the other two to grow!

Nebraska Children & Families Foundation

Nebraska Children and Families Foundation supports children, young adults, and families with the overall goal of giving our state’s kids what they need to thrive. We do this by building strong communities that support families so their children can grow up to be successful, productive adults.

C4K is an initiative started by Nebraska Children and Families Foundation. The initiative is a community-based engagement process designed to assist in the development of right-sized solutions for communities selected to participate in the program. Over a three-year period, selected communities will increase the focus on opportunities and challenges they are facing with enhancing and expanding child care opportunities.
